The "Air Boss" mission was BGEN Hill's idea to provide control and coordination of all the Army aviation assets in the battle area. During the third phase of the battle, the battle for Kontum City, the Air Boss was kept airborne in an OH-58 most of the day and sometimes, into the night. This mission was flown by a selected group of field grade officers who rotated the duty during most of May and early June. I was the first company grade officer to fly the mission. This map was the one I used and reflects the enemy positions and friendly lines on May 28th.

The OH-58 I flew in 1972.
